You may have noticed that Class-A identify ourselves as a scientific paranormal team. This means we've aligned our approaches and values to center around tried and true methods within the natural scientific community and to seek out verifiable truth above all else.

Our Methodology

To stay true to our mission, we seek to:

  • Remove bias (eliminate power of suggestion, cross check our own confirmation biases, use control groups, etc)

  • Create controlled environments

  • Eliminate contamination and variables

  • Avoid deviation from scientific structure

  • Only present to you untampered evidence

  • Never fake or dramatize anything

  • Reference professional consultants in concepts beyond our expertise

  • Use only the scientific method in our experiments and overall investigative procedures.

What Is the Scientific Method?

The definition of this methodology essentially outlines a procedure where the testers set out to remain objective. To do this they make falsifiable predictions (hypothesis) that can be tested empirically frontwards, backwards, and every which way to understand the nature of the results.

They can then publicize the takeaway in hopes of other professionals attempting to test it, further giving it credibility. This is called 'peer-review' (or 'debunking' attempts) and is crucial to cross referencing accuracy and catching blind spots in methodology.

This is how truth develops.

The key precepts of the scientific method are falsifiability, verifiability, fairness, and predictability. This means the result/theory withstands attempts to prove its counterpart, is repeatable by others, was formed in objectivity, and assists in the prediction of future dominoed outcomes and statistics.

The Procedure

The scientific method has 5 basic steps. Some systems break these down into 8-9 steps but we'll keep it simple:

Ask

What do you want to find out? Create a concise goal question and do some background research into how to approach it.

Make Reasonable Predictions

Basically, make a testable educated guess at the answer to the question above based on what you currently know and suspect. This is your running hypothesis.

Gather Data

Run some experiments based on the scientific principles of falsifiability, verifiability, fairness, and predictability. Get some evidence to back that stuff up to lend some credibility! You can gather data in a lot of ways, including observation and experimentation.

Analyze the Data

Reflect on what the data is presenting to you. Organize it into graphs, charts, etc. Check for patterns and compare and contrast with other relevant facts and statistics.

Draw Conclusions

It's now your turn to present the data after seeing what it's presented to you. Summarize whether your hypothesis came true and where it diverged (and where it stayed in tact). Share why you think it did so. Are the results conclusive in an obvious way beyond mere probable chance?

If everything is aligned, a formal and detailed summary will be written for others to reference, and to predict other related events, and the data can go public for the standard scrutiny and peer reviewing! This is how new questions arise for pursuit.

Science is a beautiful thing.

We've even been able to implement it in tricky fields like psychology - something very relevant to our investigative field. We as humans are so prone to sway of suggestion, confirmation bias, paranoia, illusions, hysteria, etc and it's important to know how to facilitate the methodology to keep these factors in check. We do this in two ways:

Scientific Method Applied to the Mind

We've learned to use this strategy to eliminate some of the subjective nature of psychology. Because psychology is the study of the mind by someone with a mind, it's automatically prone to subjectivity and bias. It's a paradox. Using a neutral methodology to keep these studies in check, which evolve repeatable results, has massively impacted the advancement of the field.

We are so lucky to have this scientific expert on our team full time! He is our consultant in all things mind, behaviour, scientific method, consciousness, bias, etc. He has specialized extensive knowledge that helps keep us in check and is a renowned professional in the field!

We do our very best to cross examine our own approaches and to detach egos from our strategies. We are open to making mistakes and can therefore constantly refine our strategies to present you with the raw unfiltered truth.
